A short kid's poem about drinking water. Encouraging healthy habits for kids. |
| W - A - T - ER by Scott C. Johnson W - A - T - ER the greatest, purest drink by far three ice cubes and a red-striped straw sip sip sip sip sip sip....ahh! Go to the kitchen when you thirst Ask for a tall cup, ask for it first What should you do next, what shall it be? Three ice cubes! 1, 2 , 3. Ice cubes are slippery, and they're cold Drop them into the cup you hold Ask mom to rinse them, rinse them well Unwashed ice cubes might have a smell! On to the fun part, this is so neat Pick out a tall straw for you to keep Now place the tall straw into the cup Almost done now, don't give up. Turn on the faucet. Down comes the drink Out of the faucet, splats in the sink Check that it's cold and check that it's fresh Old warm water is not the best. Clean cool water pours in the cup Watch as the ice cubes swirl 'n rise up Turn off the faucet, this part is best Drink the cold water. Ahh...refresh!
