The Land and the Rain

a poem inspired by watching the rain.

Rain clouds cover
Sun’s golden rays
Parched earth
Cry of praise

Sky’s tears
Land’s delight
Welcomed shadow
Ending blight

Flashing knife
Incensed roar
From the land
A call for more

Liquid diamonds
Sigh of wind
Again the dagger
Bellows of sin

A darkened sky
Hides sun’s shame
Spent storms retreat
Composed skies reign

All is peaceful
No more pain
Impossible love
Between land and rain
