Heaven in a Sunset

If I could make my heaven
I would make it in a sunset
A sunset closing on a day of wonder
The face of the sun looking straight at me
Like an old friend
Glowing its smile upon me
And me radiating in its warmth
Me sharing that knowing smile
Knowing we both know my secrets
Shadows lurking all around me
But nothing to be afraid of
They are just the rest of the world
Saying farewell as I am
Good bye old friend
I’ll see you tomorrow
