Is This What I Prayed For?

This is for my love. His heart was broken after a girl ran out on him.

I prayed the Lord would have His will with me and you,
That He would guide us through all the things we do,
I told Him that I like you, though He already knew,
But now that it's happening, I can't believe this is true.

Is this what I prayed for, when I said "Thy will, O Lord"?
Did I pray your heart to be broken when she broke her word?
Is this what I really prayed for so I could be the one with you?
Did I pray selfishly and am I the one who hurt you?

I talked to God,said I only wanted the best for you,
I was prepared to say how happy I was for you,
Yet, somewhere deep inside, I didn't want anything to change,
I wanted us to stay the same, and so the questions remain.

Is this what I prayed for, when I said "Thy will, O Lord"?
