The last poems I will likely write. Some are unfinished.
Here's some stuff I have NOT been working on. With these last efforts, I attempt to close out the diaries and notebooks full of creative writing attempts and any other musings hiding in the margins.

Words I've penned lie herein:

"Building, swelling fears restrict
hearts in these cage-like chests..."

vagrant liberty takes
me, dead in your street..."

"My desire was my sin,
and you reeled me in,
only to cast me aside."

"Veins thick with humility,
spilt upon the stolen ground.
Defiled amid the defiled..."

"Time is but an empty space and
this pier has become a quiet place."

I began experimenting with poetry in the final days. I was inspired by poets like Billy Collins and John Updike. My focus on contemporary poetry was an attempt to bring me out of my complacency, unsatisfied with my goals as a writer. The prevailing conditions of my life, health and other circumstances have me contemplating the worth of continuing at this juncture.
