| I ne’er searched for love Anticipated but nothing; My heart became jaded Yet indeed it still is willing. ‘’Twas this voice within me Then to me naively whisp’ring, “Happiness you’ve obtained, Unworthy he’s of your yielding.” Thus, in spite of the hurts Didst I truly compel forget; Sacrifices yet made I ne’er sincerely hath regret. If I be overcame, Surrender never but just yet; Mind not he be reason Of such even a mournful death. |
