Happiness Has Found Me

Today is the day...Carpe Diem

I come home to a life not lived
I sit in my room by myself
I have nothing to do, for
I never seized the day.

Carpe Diem, a famous phrase
Could I rewind my life
Can I ever know what this means
Could I be redeemed?

I see a feather drop
I watch it fall to the ground
I wonder if that's what I'll do
I fervently hope not.

Should I do something
Shall I just fade away
Simply live then die
So to fufill a destiny?

I think not!

I get up out of bed
I rummage through my garderobe
I find a stunning dress
I am going to a party.

Now I am energized
Never again will I be pitied
Nascent is my will
Newfound power and understanding.

I am strong
I am not weak
I see now the error of my ways
I will not give in again.

Here and now I live my life
However I have lived before
High on nothing, free to live
Happiness has found me.
