The influence of Christ

Confusion sets in once again
No matter how I try to understand them I can't
They change constantly, never resting
And just when I think my confusion is cresting
They take it to the next level
Just like the devil
Always tempting my past to come back
Take away the light, turn everything black
Take the hope I have and crush it
Making sure I never keep it
When I think I have everything figured out
Something changes and brings on the doubt
The black cloud hovers over head
Trying to knock me into the red
Bringing about the bad things tonight
Showing me the false light
Hiding the truth from my sight
Then I see the darkness fade away
And my night turns to day
I know who has changed my life
His name is Jesus Christ
