This is a poem about the only person I have ever truly loved, how everyday I live for her.

I felt your touch
Just once before
From that day on
I longed for more
The tingling feeling
That warmed me
The sense of safety
That I felt

The softness of your hands
I felt the pureness of your heart
I wanted you
To hold me a little longer
To touch me all over
I would have let you
Do what you wanted
Feel where you wanted
I needed you

In your absence
I pretended
To hold you tight
To kiss your lips
To hold you in places
Where you and I were meant

Then sadness strikes
For it’s all an illusion
A moment of time
Before I slept
To have a chance
That if I see your face
So hard enough
Or hear your mellifluous voice
Scream and laugh
That tonight
I would close my eyes
Lie and rest
And be with you
As I slept
