poem viewing myself as a child |
| Stare into her eyes They’re so innocent full of good Pale cheek never felt a tear Her ears so naïve to the evil sounds of the world Who could bear to hurt her? Look at her play and live life So happy, so carefree Always a smile on her face When she laughs, time stands still Who could bear to take all that away? Replacing it with hurt Her eyes seen too much Her ears heard too much Too many tears shed too soon Replacing it with sadness Her face so set in stone No more smiling Or laughing or playing Left to fend for herself In a world where everyone looks over her Left all alone |
