How stress can make a person feel

I want to feel alive
My body feels so tired
Yet my mind is wide awake.
My heart is ticking
Like a clock's second hand.
I want to yell; to scream
"Stop! Wait! Hold on- not yet!"
But it will do no good.
It will not do any good.
I wanted to feel alive
But I don't know where to go
I don't know which way is home.
Yet I'm always told
When you don't know which way to go
Lights will guide you home.
