When one person tries to remember another, but the details seem to have faded

"Images" 8/27/07

My time stands still
As the clocks insistent ticking fastens
Everyone around me is moving,
Yet I'm here standing still.
I need you so bad
I'm still picking myself up off the ground
(Pick me up now)
Everyone moves faster
Mouths opening and closing
Singing their songs and telling stories
But I don't hear anything
-Except insistent static buzzing (in my ears).
I can't stand to look you in the eyes
Those saddened orbs of chocolate brown
Or, maybe they were green.
I'm not so sure now.
It's been too long since I last saw your face
I picture it in my minds eye
But your voice comes out erratic- static
And then the picture fades away.
