No Valentine for Me

Valentine's Day Sucks Contest Entry

Here it comes again, Valentine's Day
Love's all around, just doesn't come my way.
Florist delivery trucks come and go
Anything for me, of course not, NO!!!
There's roses, tulips, candy, balloons
Once again I'm getting nothing, other than gloom.
Had a love of my own, this time last year
Thought he really loved me, not so, dear.
It was all a game, one that I lost,
Can't begin to tell you the painful price it cost.

Here it comes again, Valentine's Day
And here I am hoping love comes my way.
Wishing that one someone would find their way to me,
Then just for once, happy I would be.
But my hope is fading fast
And as usual, I'll be the last.
Last to leave the workplace, going home without flowers
Heading to my empty house, to pine away the hours.
Go to bed all alone, I pray to God my soul to keep,
Toss and turn, and finally I'll sleep.
Then wake up to the best of news!
It's February 15th, no more Valentine's blues!!!
