| Brown Sonnet By Arthur Knight False falling Angel, heading to a hard-wood floor, In an lovers shaded lair. Silently shaking, with a mournful stare, last action of beloved Clair. helpless and used, stained and abused. ethically confused, noosed on a broken chair. Such a dreadful pair, ending always, in suicidal despair. kneeling, reciting, a tear-filled prayer, for self-repair. Still plagued by memories of the baneful affair. Reminding her why, she had to die. For a lustful lie, as a reply, shall lead to this early goodbye. Lustful self-mutilated and maimed, seeds of the tormented. Oh! Such darkness, this action has invented. Condemned and sentenced by her holy illusions. Forsaken by the lights deepened shadowed seclusion's. No wings to help her fly. Only a rope, and a moral code to live by. |
