A Mother


A bright light shining through the darkness,
emanating from her very soul.
A smile to ease away the sadness,
hugs and kisses to make me feel whole.

A pillow, I run to, shedding tears,
a blanket during the coldest night,
always there to take away my fears,
making sure everything is all right.

A warm breeze, the soft wind, to play with.
The smiling sun, brightening my day.
All the time, providing what I need,
showing me her love in every way.

A very special person for me,
the one who had given me life.
In my eyes, the great lady I see,
not only a nice friend but a good wife.

That is you, my wonderful mother.
You are everything to me and more.
An inspiration like no other,
you are our family's very core!
