Soft Rain
droplets of soft rain
bead on the waxing green leaves--
lilacs unfolding


First Light
stillness of first light
spreading over piñon pines,
the rooster's crowing


Fresh Herbs
a blackened tree stands
weathered against the mountain
as fresh herbs flourish
