I lie in bed as...

A rain laden breeze wafts through my open window,
  a sweet scent of freshness envelopes me.

A gentle wind slips through my open window,
  cooling fingers caress my face, tease my hair.

A soft melody of a bird reaches through my open window,
  a ring of joy and laughter reverberate within me.

A golden ray of sunlight seeps through my open window,
  the warmth of a loving smile grips my heart.

A light sprinkling of rain comes in through my open window,
    tender moisture innocently dampens my cheeks.

I lie in bed,
as my bleeding heart aches for what was.

I lie in bed
as I turn
                to the empty space beside me.
