Where Im From

This was an English project we had to do in September. I dont thiink its too bad

I am from "make a better life"
and "things'll work out in the end"
starting life with hope
barely making ends meet

I am from my mom's accomplishments
my dad's music
and my brother's tears or smiles

I am from blackberry stains
scars and shared adventures
from telling stories
and tricking neighbors

I am from exhilarating heights
and dark cool caves
from slimy tadpoles
and skinny snakes

I am from my Nana's knitting
her forgetful disease
and scared visits to
see that frail body move

I am from playing house
smacking pots and pans
and saturday morning cartoons

I am from dreams of the past
and nightmares of the future
starting with hope
hoping for adventure
