I held out! And probably a good thing too. What was i thinking?

A walking misconception...
Your intentions semed alright
As you softly kissed me in the ear
And held me through the night....

But time wore thin, this sweet facade
And showed you for what you are:
Someone who knew what he couldn't get,
Yet, still tried to take it that far.

I believed that promise you made that day
And a little faith was restored again...
Thinking back- I was so careless
