This poem says we all need to live peacefully despite outward differences. |
| I was once a flower, A plant that grew on a grassy plain. There were many of us; We were all the same. We all had five petals, Our leaves identical were they. We arose in the springtime, Then faded in the heat of day. We all knew one local, That was our sweet grassy plain We were born of the prarie In the wind, the sun, the rain. Of vast account were our numbers. Thousands of us there were. Like an endless wave of color We were to our viewers for sure. We always lived in that prarie, Together white, red, blue. We were of different colors, But we created a glorious hue. To tell how grand our lives were Is quite impossible to say. If the world were like us, It would live in a much better way. |
