After Dark

Blessings are all around

A prayer I pray each night

For you to stay by my side

A thankful heart

Endless joys

And happiness that employs

Your kind had rests upon my shoulder

Making sure I'm alright

Each night I fall to sleep

Feeling blessed by your glorious light



Afraid of the dark I pray

To take all the frightening things away

The monsters in my closet

And under my bed

Take away the thunder and lightning

Making me want to hide

Where the monsters live

To tell you of my fears

My joys

And a the laughter and tears

Praying to you today

To help me along my way

To guide me through today

Being just wishes away

From the ones I hold so dear

Wishing to be by their side once more

I pray to you each night and day

To take away the fears and tears

Of yesterday



Blankets of stars in the sky

Looking up to you tonight

Saying thank you lord for all you do

And how you work in my life

Thank you for blessing me

Each and every day

For I am in the word of God

With Jesus to light my way.
