The Shattered Path

Sometimes all it takes is one thing to change us forever...

Through the broken glass
I stare
at a life never seen or heard
Musing at how a single
missing pane
can bend the light
in such a way
to change my life forever
A shattered path
which perfect seems
yet in truth a obscenity
A path blown away from the rest
sheltered and protected from the tyrant winds
yet only to walk the sands alone
separated from the worlds woes
If only the broken pane was naught
If only the path had not faced a shattered fraught
Then perhaps my back would not have turned
