POEM-NESS. |
| Whistling from the cherry lips, Pacing down the asphalt, Attempts to sustain speed with the cars, Their headlights figuring furious eyes. Tint drained from his expression, And love was on his mind. Hopes for an accidental romance, Perhaps a tender beauty in the street. The only thing to captivate, A barren oak tree. Vegetation, dreams long ago departed, Bark, and mind left on its lonesome. The fruits of his dreams spoiled, Imaginings were decayed. Maggots consuming thoroughly, Yet both stand tall and reside rooted. |
