The Grand Ship
pt2

I’m ready to open up my umbrella, the wind’s strong today we shall fly.
Inside of the suitcase the soul of the grand ship
We’ll fly to the ocean and let it be free
Follow the river, we’ll go down together
Such a long journey till we reach the sea
But our speeds are neck-breaking and when we get there we’ll be free

The ocean will open up its arms to save us
Behind us the shadows reach out from the sand
The grand ship will take us where we long to be
To where we believe that our hearts can be free
God speed to the grand ship to you and to me

Sail over the line that takes us to the night world
Stars loose their place and they swim in the sky
Burning bright points come to close to the sails
It is no longer safe for the grand ship and I
We’ll drown in the waves that carry us away
Our fires extinguished by the hands of the sea
To a watery grave goes the grand ship and me
At last and forever we both shall be free
