My Missing Piece

There is a missing piece inside of me,
but the more I search for this piece, the more i lose.
Where did I lose this piece?
how did i let it slip from my grasp?
Was it always inside of me,
or was it a part that I never knew to exist.
I feel cold, empty, and isolated from this piece.
This is a feeling i have never felt nor like
I want to run far and wide,
but it seems everywhere I turn.
the missing piece will never be there.
and so it will be my missing piece
forever lost in the darkness of which i left it.
