I am who I am, and I feel what I feel

What did you want me to say?
That none of it mattered
That it was some passing fancy
A fling
Singular
Isolated?

What did you expect me to say?
That it meant nothing
I felt nothing
Beyond
Physical release
Solitary
Selfish?

It wasn't.

It was everything alive
It was all that mattered
It was something that will stay
Forever in my heart
Where love abides.
