Poem written during an extended absence from my husband. |
| Apart I hear your voice through the wires So soothing and seductive. But these sound waves help me none. Late at night and all through the day, I miss your touch, your smile. The phone line cannot caress me Nor can it shelter me at night. My soul cries out for its completion For the better half of me. Tossing and turning No warmth to soothe me. So little time But it feels like a lifetime Away from you. |
