A poem about a person who has given up the will to survive. |
| Forgotten will… A Question is asked and a blank stare refuses to answer a call Do your exercises, eat your veggies, get some sleep I’m not always around to pick you up after you fall Beside a coffin and a hole in the ground, I silently weep The urge to live, to survive has long passed away Dirty dishes, empty bottles and clothes all over the place The only liquid to pass your lips cannot be consumed in a day The only rescue I see is with God’s grace You have lost your way and nothing will correct your wrong So many pleads and your blank stare is not even willing to try Every angle, every trick I have tried to make you strong Beside a shrinking barely breathing body I cry. If not for yourself bare with life if only for me Your life is slipping away one day at a time Like leaves falling from a tree… |
