Too Far

Brief attempt at poetry, i am out of practice. feedback welcome

Drifting away on an ocean that separates us
The wind pushing me ever farther away
The waves drowning out your desperate call
The black sea swirls and boils and my spirit falls

On the ocean alone thinking of you
Waiting for the tide to bring me home
Thinking of your loving arms
Longing for your beautiful charms

Riding out the storm at sea
Clinging to my one way home to you
Praying to the sky
Do not let me die

Burning in the sun
Body starving and thirsty
Heart aching for your presence
Mind losing all pretence

The beautiful luminous stars
Remind me of your eyes
The waves grow stronger
I cannot last much longer

I feel you here
With me in the dark
I hold you in my heart
Even though were apart

And as I sink
I smile and weep
I am home with you still
I will always be with you, I will.
