Ain’t never much cared
For long roads,
They remind me of places
I’ll never go and things
I’ll never see

Ain’t never cared much for short songs
That teases the heart
But leave you even more
Lonely

Ain’t never much cared
For expensive things
Or day dreams
I’d rather save them for nights

Never wanted to be shorter
Or even taller
But thinner, well
I might

But not fabulous
Or grand
Not a martyr
Just a man
Centered by heart
And smart
Where flowers grow ‘round
And not even storms or floods
Or journeys
Abound
Stand in the way of destiny
For me
