Once the bell has given its tone To mark the end of this unfair art For all their love should not depart She loves him dear and cries a silver tear He holds her near says 'darlind, don't fear' They kiss once to seal their fate Maybe they shall meet again on a later date The bell has struck its final chord To smoldering embers they do turn |
