As Summer Nears

A poem about summer.

Lemonade stands
summertimes bands
concerts in the park
playing til dark
going on vacation
at home on staycation
a birthday for the Nation
happy celebration
waiting for the ballpark franks to be plumping
hanging out with your little sugar dumpling
family and friends getting together
enjoy the fun and hot summer weather
the summer has always been my favorite of seasons
and there is no way I could give all my reasons
having fun
in the sun
while thru the speakers I will run
staying cool
in the pool
try not to look the fool
summertime summertime
