Clink! Clink!
The spoons swirl
Teabags bob
And duck and twirl,

Ladies chatter -
Cheery as
A sailor, though

'Oh shush, no matter!'

Has it brewed?
Off with the shoes!
Curling toes and
Curling tongues
And cigarettes and
Silly songs and

Knock, Knock, Knock
A telegram?
The chatter stops

'I'm sorry to
Inform you, ma'am'

The china drops
