Like every tree stands on its own
bending with the breeze
reaching for the sky
I stand alone

Like the sun that shines
emitting it's own bright light
fueling itself through secret prayer
I shine a brilliant glow

Like the stars
although vast in the night sky
each is it's very own
I stand alone

I stand alone
together with the world
alone- yet not apart
It is the way it is meant to be
a small fish in the great sea

In the silence alone with myself
I hear the sound of each rock and stone
the babbling of the brooks
and the rush of the rivers
It soothes my soul


I listen to the winds that talk to me
and bathe in the rain as the sky cries
I dance upon the cold, wet earth
as I gently sway and sigh


I stand alone, for I am one
One is a number that is
I stand alone and rejoice in myself
my life is but my own
