Father

Written for a friend I lost after she lost her father

I may have never met you physically
But I did meet you in spirit
I dated your daughter
And learned so much about you
She adored you
And from what I'm told I can see why
You seemed like an amazing man
I'm sure you were an amazing father too
She once told me
we would never drift apart as she saw you in me
We did drift apart
But she never left my heart and she will always remain there

It is a bittersweet thing
The news I heard today
Your daughter took her own life
She missed you too much
As I said it is bittersweet
Both of you are now reunited
But this Earth is missing a very special girl
Maybe I'm a lil selfish I don't know
But I will miss you both
I love you sweetheart
