Blazing Ember

Long lost ember blazes into passion

There’s an ember deep inside me:
My soul has lost the beaten path.
Unknown spirit, I can’t see thee;
My heart is hardened by my wrath.

Hold me in Your arms dear Jesus;
Save me from my austere ways.
Bridge the gap that’s come between us;
Teach me once again to praise.

Sift the ashes, cleanse my freedom,
Touch my soul and fuel the fire!
Help me break away from boredom;
Bind my passion, Holy Desire!

Hold me in Your heart dear Jesus:
Find me lost in word and deed!
Protect me from the thoughts my mind does;
Love me past my thoughts and need.

Breathe my life, blaze the future;
Radiate what once was lost.
Find me kneeling with your picture;
Thrust to action, count the cost.

Hold me high I love You, Jesus,
Proclaiming to the world I see!
Embers await Your patient justice;
Passion ignites eternity!
