There are different kinds of warriors.

                                                                          Today, yet the most complex.
                                                                  Green youth, a Japanese maple standing --
                                                                  A samurai dressed in shades of burgundy,
                                                                    Slightly budding, but regal nonetheless.
                                                                  Proud, delicate warrior, but ready for battle,
                                                                          A lone memory of ages before.
                                                                            Not a statue -- but a living,
                                                                              Breathing thing. For this
                                                                                Is the sign of spring.
                                                                                  A new life ready
                                                                                        To make
                                                                                        Its mark
                                                                                        On ages
                                                                                        To come.
