End of an Era

Not one of me best from my younger years but I wanted to share it anyway

Accusations running through my ears
What you said bought me tears
Causing lies and trouble
My life turning like brick and rubble

Why does it matter so much to you
When people say things untrue
You had me to shout and accuse
Not realising what you might loose

I did not stir and lie
As I said with one big sigh
But my words are always left unspoken
And my heart will never be unbroken

I hate what they did
When you were still one big kid
Leaving you always altered
Never to see where we faltered

I’m sorry to see you go
My good friend and beau
But life moves on down the track
Never being able to go back

Changing things would not happen
Not even if your words became satin
I didn’t do anything wrong
Even if you don’t believe my song

My heart will always remain sour
When I think of how they tower
Over our disrupted friendship
Never again to be re-lit

I will always look back with joy
Before the time they took you to destroy
And to the time before they did not send
