Trapped

Another poem I've had laying around and decided to post

I've tried to run away,
I've tried with all my might.
But the moon and the stars still follow me
As I avoid the ruins in the night.

I've tried to be the hero,
I've tried with all my might.
But despite my every effort,
I cannot shake this absence of light.

I've tried to just sit and listen,
I've tried with all my might.
But the screams and the wails and the bloodshed
Prevent the access to ignorant strife.

I cannot escape from this,
though I try with all my might.
The heartache and the destruction
Trapped in a soulless plight.
