Tears of a Tree

we are not alone on this planet. Everything has a spirit even the plants.

Once long ago,
in a faraway land
there lived a most beautiful tree.
“There is no other finer then me,
none stronger or straighter”.
said he.

Proudly he stood majestic and grand.
“Why I’m fit for a king”.
and the people agreed…….
It was very straight and strong  indeed.
It was fit for king.

It would make a fine cross,
for the king of the Jews!,
and the tree cried as Christ
was placed upon it.

He stood straight to the end,
though his heart broke in two
For he held Gods son
as he was destined to do.

The dogwoods of today are to
Remind you and me ,
humbled with twisted limbs
and flowers of pure white,
marked with a cross
from Christ’s terrible plight.

Remember, as you pass
through this life of sin,
God gave his son for you!
