Unreciprocated Love.

My word’s echo in my mind like crashing waves without a shore.
Even if spoken where would they land?
An unreciprocated advance, a pacing glance nothing more.
I reach to you but emptiness fills my hand.
Acceptance of lies to pacify my starving soul.
Grief guides me on this familiar thoroughfare.
A masquerade dance a forlorn role.
A perfectly placed façade to conceal my despair.
