My friend

This is for a very dear friend of mine

Life can sometimes throw terrible things at us

Tears, anger and rage

But these things do not last forever

They test us and make us strong

So that when we are happy we know why



All of us including you deserves to be happy

Sometimes life is harder on some than others

But they show their strength by coming through

And shouting “look at me, I made it, I beat you”



Do not listen to the ones who do not like it

They will drag you down time and time again

Open old wounds to make you unhappy

All because they can not stand to see you smile

But you are stronger than they will ever be



I trust in you because you are my friend

Through the good and bad we have always been

I can see your heart and see your beauty

I will stand with you through the sunshine

And I will stand with you through the fires
