Loneliness

The Lonely Road

The road is narrow and steep with hills.
Navigation is hazardous,
no map with an easier way revealed.

Foliage has overgrown the road.
The path is hard to make out.
No one around to ask for help.

Your heart is your map, is what I'm told.
Pray that it leads me right,
but how do I know?

The fields are fertile,
ready to sprout and bloom with love.
Two to tend this garden is just enough.

The sun is going down.
The sky, dimming with muted colors.
The air, chilled with doubt and dejected whispers.

But hope is on the horizon.
You will be with me soon, I believe.
Then this road will not be so lonely.
