No Time For Tears

I  can't say that I regret ever loving you,
or that our time together was a mistake.
But I feel that our chance to fix what we can't undo
has passed, and will not come back our way.
Friendship is all we have now.
It's more than we had before.
For us, it is all that I will allow.
But my efforts, you ignore.
Changing my mind is your main focus.
Listening to me isn't your strong suit.
You have all these plans for us.
You refuse to accept the truth.
I don't want to hurt you.
I really believe we can be friends,
but pressure I do not respond to;
and on you does our friendship depend.
I sometimes wish things could be different.
That the love you express now,
you could have expressed then.
But the past is unchanging,
and those wishes fall on deaf ears.
Our love is no longer worth saving.
The past has no time for tears.
