This is a religious poem about our day and the second coming of Christ. |
| SONRISE Page 1 The night draws late the moon is gone, The darkness deepens before the dawn, And evil men dark webs do spin, Whose blackened threads catch most in sin, But then we see on horizon’s line A morning star with hope to shine, It speaks to eyes who wish to see, The way to go to be set free, SONRISE Page 2 It heralds the Son more brightly come, To lead our walk and righteous run, Alas, the crowd with dark entwined, Reject the light ignore the sign, For those who love the web’s embrace, Will stay behind in darkening place, Until too late the price they pay, And forfeit life in sin’s dark way, SONRISE Page 3 It’s living, they thought but each strand a lie, No safety there for all did die, But those set free by the Son’s new light, Found peace in life from truth’s great might, The hoped for day Now in man’s sight, A thousand years Of truth and right.
