Why didn’t you love me?
I gave you everything I could
I gave you my heart and soul
But it wasn’t good enough

I just wanted you
By my side
To tell me you loved me
And to hold me close

Why didn’t you want me?
Why wasn’t I good enough?
What did I do wrong
To make you treat me differently?

You loved all the others before me
Why didn’t you treat me the same?
You gave them all love and attention
But you pretended I wasn’t there

You took her behind the bushes
You let her stay in your hotel room
But you couldn’t take me on a date
Or even find someplace private with me

You said I was the best lover
That you’d ever had
So why did you cast me away?
Why did you only use me?

I let you play your games
I quietly submitted to your neglect
Just so you would see
How much I truly loved you

I put up with so much for so long
And you took advantage of that
Why couldn’t you just love me back
The way you said you did?

I’m not a seasonal flavor
Cut me and I bleed
I always hurt when you did
