It was a day like no other
Thought it was going to alright
With my mother by my side
We set out to what might be
A day to be remembered

Woke up in morning
With the beams of sunlight,
Dancing to wake me up.
With a smile on my face,
And with a thought to win,
Like a warrior I was dressed,
From head to toe,
In gleaming new clothes,

With my mother by my side,
Disembarked on a journey,
Like anything I have ever seen,
The sun focused towards me.
Feeling like a star in the sky,
I walked forward with pride and honor,
With my mother by my side.

We arrived at the place,
I thought I was one of a kind
But I was not the only one,
A hundred I could see,
All in gleaming new clothes.
I had my pride shattered by the sight
And this was my first day
