Relationship issues...not about a physical disease.

Affliction

I've told you the cause and cure for my affliction,
yet you have tried to pacify me with a few chaste kisses.
You don't seem to understand the extent of my pain;
or how hot the anger is that I contain.
You say you love me, that there is nothing I can't ask..
How many times must I put in my request?
I try not to be selfish.
I give more than I get,
but my single request has caused a conflict.
I've tried to explain the depth of my disease;
how deeply it affects the relationship between you and me.
But all the discussions never come to a good end.
You say you will try, but I think it's all pretend.
Maybe you just choose to ignore the signs you see;
and you want to see how long it will take for you to break me.
Only time will tell the secrets of your heart.
Whether you will cure my affliction,
or we will be forced to part.
