About the lack of affection

Selfish I am not,
but I have needs like the next girl.
I don’t ask for much.
I just need to be loved and held.

We share the same roof,
but a couple we are not.
I did not sign on for a room-mate,
but clearly that’s what I’ve got.

We don’t date, we don’t touch.
To each other, we do not relate.
Time has continued to pass,
but nothing has changed.

Why won’t you leave?

do my needs count for anything?
