The beginning of the Leprechaun and his pot of gold. |
A deceitful farmer thought a Dragon he could trick, with a wee bit of mischievous foolery. A Riddle in mind and Fiddle in hand to the Dragon he went. Into the Dragon’s lair, he Dared Declare his challenge, To answer just one TINY riddle The Dragon gains would be his Fine Fiddle. Yet could he not, a pot of gold would be the loss. The Dragon mindful of deception gave a Bit of a Stipulation. If the pot of gold you gain, Then a mite of a man shall you become, Tending the pot of gold amid baleful gaze. The Farmer foolishly thought of nothing, except wealth. Giving his nod of consent he grabbed his fiddle and a riddle he told. The Dragon pondered and thought. Though, Answer he could not, and so the farmer became the Leprechaun tending the Pot of Dragon’s Gold. Now in vain, he tries All dressed in green, to hide from the Dragon’s eyes. |
